RESPONS VEGETATIF TANAMAN LADA TERHADAP APLIKASI IRIGASI DAN FERTIGASI PADA MUSIM KEMARAU / Vegetative Response of Pepper to Irrigation and Fertigation Applications in Dry Season

Abstract


The management of water and nutrients plays an important role in black pepper cultivation. Fertigation is a nutrient supply technique that is synergized with irrigation applications and has been widely used in commercial commodities such as horticulture but has not become a concern for pepper cultivation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of irrigation and fertigation applications in the dry season on the vegetative growth of black pepper plants. The three treatments included (1) application of fertilization according to SOP, (2) application of fertilization according to SOP and in the dry season added irrigation, and (3) application of fertilization according to SOP and in the dry season added fertigation (H3) tested in the experiment field of IPTP Sukamulya, Sukabumi in the period October 2018 – December 2019, using a randomized block design with 9 replications. The results showed that the application of irrigation and fertigation in the dry season increased all vegetative parameter values compared to control plants. The fertigation application was better than irrigation which was indicated by increased growth and nutrient status of leaf tissue, especially the elements of N, K, Ca, and Mg. The fertigation application on soil nutrients water in the dry season improves black pepper growth, therefore, it could be evaluated on a larger field scale.

Abstrak

Pengaturan tata air dan hara berperan penting pada budi daya lada. Fertigasi sebagai teknik pemberian hara yang disinergikan dengan aplikasi irigasi telah digunakan secara luas pada komoditas komersial seperti hortikultura, namun pemakaiannya belum menjadi perhatian pada budi daya lada. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi pengaruh aplikasi irigasi dan fertigasi pada periode musim kemarau terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman lada. Tiga perlakuan meliputi (1) aplikasi pemupukan sesuai standar operasional prosedur (SOP), (2) aplikasi pemupukan dilakukan menggungan robot fertigasi yang diprogram dengan takaran sesuai SOP dan pada musim kemarau ditambahkan irigasi, serta (3) aplikasi pemupukan sesuai SOP dan pada musim kemarau ditambahkan fertigasi diuji di lapangan kebun percobaan IPTP Sukamulya, Sukabumi pada periode Oktober 2018-Desember 2019, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 9 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi irigasi dan fertigasi pada musim kemarau meningkatkan semua nilai parameter vegetatif dibandingkan tanaman kontrol. Aplikasi fertigasi lebih baik dibandingkan irigasi yang ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan pertumbuhan dan status hara pada jaringan daun terutama unsur N, K, Ca, dan Mg. Aplikasi fertigasi pada periode musim kering dapat memperbaiki pertumbuhan tanaman lada dan berpotensi untuk diterapkan pada pengelolaan hara dan air pada budi daya lada skala lebih luas.
