Colostrum Quality of Etawah Crossbreed in Various Lactation Periods and Types of Birth at PT and HMT Singosari, Malang District. Etawah crossbreed is one of the Indonesia’s local genetic resources. This research aimed to evaluate the colostrum characteristics of Etawah Crossbred goats with various lactation periods and types of birth (litter size). Twenty Etawah Crossbred goats were selected for the experiment, based on lactation period 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (4 goats per lactation). Each lactation period had 2 doe-s with a single and multiple births. Colostrum was milked at 0; 24; 48; and 72 hours postpartum and analyzed using Lactoscan. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test of SAS statistical analysis. Lactation period significantly affected colostrum fat and protein (P<0.05) except for lactose and SnF (P>0.05). Type of birth also significantly affected colostrum fat, lactose, and protein (P<0.01) except for SnF (P<0.05). All parameters in the third lactation period showed the highest values and subsequently decreased. Etawah Crossbred goats with single births showed the highest value of all variables than multiple births did.

Kambing Peranakan Etawah (PE) merupakan salah satu sumber daya genetik lokal Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari karakteristik kolostrum kambing PE dengan berbagai periode laktasi, dan tipe kelahiran (litter size). Penelitian menggunakan 20 ekor kambing PE yang diseleksi dengan periode laktasi 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 5; masing-masing 4 ekor kambing per laktasi. Setiap periode laktasi masing-masing terdapat 2 induk kambing dengan kelahiran tunggal dan kelahiran kembar. Pemerahan kolostrum dilakukan pada 0; 24; 48; dan 72 jam pascapartus dan dianalisis menggunakan Lactoscan. Data dianalisis menggunaan Analysis of Variance dengan Duncan'S Multiple Range Test dari analisis statistik SAS. Periode laktasi berpengaruh nyata terhadap lemak dan protein kolostrum (P<0,05) kecuali laktosa dan SnF (P>0,05). Tipe kelahiran berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap lemak, laktosa, dan protein kolostrum (P<0,01) kecuali SnF (P<0,05). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah kadar lemak, laktosa, dan protein kolostrum kambing PE dengan periode laktasi 3 lebih tinggi dibandingkan periode laktasi 1, 2, 4, dan 5. Kadar lemak, laktosa, dan protein mengalami peningkatan pada periode laktasi 3 selanjutnya mengalami penurunan pada perioe laktasi 4. Kolostrum kambing PE dengan kelahiran tunggal menunjukkan bahwa kadar lemak, laktosa, protein, dan SnF lebih tinggi  dibandingkan kelahiran kembar.
