Peningkatan Kualitas Perakaran Setek Pucuk Pepermin (Mentha piperita L.) dengan Zat Pengatur Tumbuh 2,4-D

Abstract


Disamping dengan setek stolon, pepermin dapat diperbanyak dengan setek pucuk maupun setek batang. Dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas perakaran bibit, telah dilakukan pengujian zat pengatur tumbuh 2.4-D terhadap setek pucuk pepermin. Perlakuan terdiri atas pencelupan setek pucuk pepermin pada 0, 80, 160, 240, dan 320 ppb larutan 2.4-D selama 5x60 detik. Setelah mendapat perlakuan, setek ditumbuhkan pada media kultur air (hidroponik). Percobaan disusun dalam rancangan lingkungan acak kelompopk dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi optimal bagi jumlah akar dan bobot kering akar adalah 160 ppb 2.4-D. pada konsentrasi ini, kedua parameter tersebut nyata meningkat berturut-turut 41% dan 30% dari control.
