Difusi Teknologi Pengendalian Hama Terpadu (PHT) Brontispa longissima Gestro (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) Melalui Sekolah Lapang Petani

Abstract


Sekolah lapang petani merupakan salah satu metode yang efektif untuk transfer teknologi PHT pada tanaman kelapa salah satunya adalah hama B. longissima. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui difusi teknologi PHT melalui sekolah lapang dan pengaruhnya pada tingkat pengetahuan dan pola pikir petani terhadap PHT hama B. longissima. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Wusa, Kecamatan Talawaan, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara dengan membentuk sekolah lapang petani beranggotakan 25 petani. Tahapan kegiatan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu seleksi lokasi dan peserta, survei data dasar, pra evaluasi, analisis agroekosistem, difusi teknologi dan post test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan sekolah lapang selama satu tahun, memberikan perubahan perilaku pada para peserta dengan menerima dan menerapkan teknologi yang diberikan. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat pada penurunan kerusakan tanaman kelapa akibat serangan B. longissima di areal petani yang menerapkan sekolah lapang petani. ABSTRACT

Technology diffusion of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Brontispa longissima Gestro (Coleoptera:Chrysomelidae) Through Farmer Field School

Farmer field school is one of the effective methods to diffuse technology of integrated pest management of B. longissima. The objective of this research is to study the IPM technology difusion by farmers through the field school. Impact of the IPM was observed through the following indicators: behavioral changes toward knowledge (cognitive), attitude (afective) and skill (psichomotoric) of the farmers, and reduction in coconut leaf damage caused by B. longissima. The farmer field school conducted at Wusa, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi Province comprised of 25 members. Several stages of activity included locations and participants selection, baseline survey, preevaluation, agricultural analysis, technology difusion and post test. Reduction in coconut plant damage caused by B. longisisma in coconut areas of FFS members suggested that IPM technology for controlling B. longissima through the implementation of farmer field school was succesfully adopted by farmers.
