Jurnal Tanah dan Iklim (JTI)

 

KETENTUAN UMUM

Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mempublikasikan makalah-makalah penelitian dengan topik-topik penelitian terbaru, dan makalah tersebut tidak dikirimkan atau dipublikasikan di jurnal ilmiah lainnya. Makalah ulasan (review) tidak akan diterima. Jurnal ini mempertahankan standar dalam isi, penyajian, dan penelaahan (reviewing) yang ketat.

 

RUANG LINGKUP

Jurnal ini menerima makalah-makalah dari berbagai sumber jika memberikan kontribusi orisinil terhadap pemahaman teoritis dan percobaan, serta aplikasi dari teori dan metodologi dari berbagai aspek ilmu tanah dan ilmu iklim pertanian di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian luar negeri akan dipertimbangkan jika berhubungan dengan kondisi Indonesia. Hasil penelitian yang negatif juga akan dipertimbangkan jika berbeda dengan teori saat ini atau dapat mencegah peneliti berikutnya dari penelitian yang tidak bermanfaat. Jurnal dipublikasikan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia (dengan abstrak dalam Bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesia) dua kali dalam satu tahun.

 

PENGIRIMAN MAKALAH

Makalah harus diketik pada kertas ukuran A4 dengan spasi ganda dan pias atas, bawah, kiri, kanan 2.5 cm, dengan   draft antara 15-25 20 halaman. Font harus menggunakan Time New Roman 12pt dalam format MS Word. Makalah harus diberi nomor baris.

Tabel dan gambar harus dipisahkan dari tubuh tulisan dan diletakan setelah daftar pustaka. Lokasi tabel dan gambar harus ditandai di dalam tubuh tulisan.

Untuk pengiriman, makalah harus disusun dalam urutan sebagai berikut:

PENYIAPAN MAKALAH

Judul harus jelas, faktual, informatif dan terdiri dari maksimum 15 kata. Nama penulis harus ditulis di bawah judul, yang dilengkapi dengan alamat penulis saat makalah dibuat dan alamat sekarang jika alamatnya berbeda.

Abstrak meringkaskan penelitian dalam satu paragraph dan ditulis tidak lebih dari 250 kata. Abstrak harus menguraikan secara singkat masalah yang dikaji, menyatakan cakupan dan rencana penelitian, mengindikasikan data yang penting, memberikan penemuan utama dan kesimpulan. Istilah baku, peristilahan sainstifik dan singkatan yang diterima harus digunakan dalam abstrak.

Makalah terdiri dari Pendahuluan, Bahan dan Metode atau Pendekatan/Metodologi, Hasil dan Pembahasan, Kesimpulan, dan Daftar Pustaka. Ucapan terima kasih dan Lampiran  boleh ditambahkan jika perlu.

Pendahuluan meletakan penelitian dalam persfektif penulis, mengulas literatur secara singkat, dan menyatakan secara jelas tujuan dan arti penting dari penelitian. Detil yang cukup harus disediakan dalam bagian Metode untuk mengizinkan peneliti lain untuk menilai penelitian dan menduplikasi prosedur. Gambar dan tabel harus digunakan di bagian Hasil. Artikel harus memasukan pembahasan dari hasil dalam hubungannya dengan tujuan dan hasil penelitian lainnya. Kesimpulan ditarik sesuai dengan judul, tujuan dan pembahasan hasil. Ucapan terima kasih harus singkat (kurang dari 40 kata)

Penyitiran dalam teks yang menggunakan sistam nama-tahun dengan menggunakan dua bentuk, Subandi (1990) atau (Subandi 1990). Jika lebih dari satu sitiran, sitiran harus disebutkan bersamaan dan ditulis dalam urutan tanggal; contohnya, (Partohardjono and Adiningsih 1991;Widjaja-Adhi 1995; Muljadi 1997).  Jika lebih dari dua penulis, tulis nama keluarga diikuti oleh et al.  Ingat bahwa et al. TIDAK PERNAH digunakan dalam Daftar pustaka meskipun diterima sebagai acuan dalam teks. Masukan semua penulis dan editor dalam bagian Daftar Pustaka. Acuan tidak dipublikasi harus dibatasi.

Daftar Pustaka harus dilist menurut urutan alfabet. Masing-masing pustaka  harus disitir dalam teks, dan setiap sitiran harus dilist di bagian Daftar Pustaka. Berikut ini adalah format dasar yang digunakan:

Tulisan ya telah diterima untuk publikasi tetapi belum dipublikasikan dapat disitir sebagai 'in press' dalam Daftar Pustaka, dan harus disertai dengan nama jurnal.

Satuan Pengukuran menggunakan sistem SI untuk semua pengukuran.

Tabel harus diketik dengan spasi ganda, dinomori secara berurut, mempunyai judul yang singkat, dan diacu dalam teks. Garis vertikal tidak diperbolehkan. Catatan kaki menggunakan nomor dengan superscript.

Ilustrasi: gambar garis dibuat menggunakan tinta hitam pada kertas putih. Semua gambar harus disesuaikan dengan ukuran jurnal dan proporsi setelah penguranga, tanpa kehilangan detil.  Setiap gambar harus diberi judul, diikuti oleh deskripsi singkat (jika tidak dijelaskan dalam teks). Simbol-simbol singkatan dalam gambar harus dijelaskan.  Setiap gambar harus dinamai dengan nama penulis, judul tulisan, dan nomor gambar. Semua gambar harus disitir dalam teks. Kantor editor akan menyediakan bantuan jika perlu dan bisa membuat ulang gambar. Photo harus dikirimkan dalam kertas glossy dengan kontras yang baik. Cetak warna tidak boleh dikirimkan karena tidak cocok untuk reproduksi.  Setiap slide berwarna dikrimkan dengan ekspose yang cukup. Photo harus ditandai di bagian belakang dengan nama penulis, judul tulisan, dan nomor gambar. 

KOMENTAR EDITOR DAN REFEREE

Semua makalah yang dikirimkan ke Jurnal Tanah dan Iklim direview oleh Dewan Editor. Jika topik dari makalah diluar cakupan keahlian Dewan Editor, makalah tersebut akan dikirim ke para ahli dibidangnya sebagai wasit. Para wasit akan memperhatikan apak makalah memberikan kontribusi yang nyata pada ilmu tanah dan ilmu iklim Pertanian di Indonesia jika makalah tersebut orisinil dan apakah hasil percobaan sah dan nyata. Laporan wasit  bisa jadi menolak, menerima atau menerima dengan perbaikan. Penolakan makalah oleh Dewan Editor bersifat final.

GUIDELINE FOR AUTHOR

Indonesian Soil and Climate Journal (ISCJ)

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The journal aims to publish primary research articles of current research topics, not simultaneously submitted to nor previously published in other scientific or technical journals. General review articles will not be accepted. The journal maintains strict standards of content, presentation, and reviewing.

 

SCOPE

The journal will consider papers from any source if they make an original contribution to the experimental or theoretical understanding and application of theories and methodologies of various aspects of soil science and agroclimate science in Indonesia. Overseas work will be considered if it is relevant for Indonesian conditions. Relevant negative evidence will also be considered if it contradicts current theories, or if it is likely to prevent fruitless work by future investigators. The journal is published in English and Bahasa Indonesia (with English and indonesian abstracts) twice a year.

 

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

Manuscripts must be typed on A4-size paper with double spacing throughout, with 2.5-cm margins on all   sides of the paper, 15-25 pages. Font must be in Time New Roman 12 and prepared in MS Word. Manuscript must be line numbered.

Table and Figure must be separated from text body and put after reference. Their location must be assigned in text body.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Title should be concise, factual, informative, and should contain not more than 15 words. The name(s) of the author(s) should appear below the title, together with the full addresses of the authors at the time the work was carried out, and their present addresses, if they are different.

 

Abstract summarizes the study in one paragraph of not more than 250 words. This should describe briefly the problem, state the scope and plan of the work, indicate significant data and give the principal findings and conclusions. Only standard terms, scientific nomenclature and accepted abbreviations should be used.

 

Subdivisions of manuscript cover Introduction, Materials and Methods or Approach/Methodology, Results and Discusion, Conclusion, and References. Acknowledgments and Appendices may be included if necessary.

 

The Introduction should put the work into perspective, briefly review the literature, and clearly state the objectives and the importance of the research. Sufficient details should be included in the Methods section to allow other workers to assess the work and duplicate the procedures. Figures and tables should be used in the Results section wherever possible. The paper should include a discussion of the results in relation to the objectives and to other work. Conclusions should be drawn with regard to the title, objectives, and discussion of the results. Acknowledgements should be kept to a minimum (less than 40 words).

 

References should be made to previous work in the text with name-year system in one of two forms, Subandi (1990) or (Subandi 1990). Where more than one reference is mentioned together, they should be written in order of date; for example, (Partohardjono and Adiningsih 1991;Widjaja-Adhi 1995; Muljadi 1997). If there are more than two authors then the surname should be followed by et al. Remember that et al. is NEVER used in citation references, although it is acceptable as a reference in text. Please provide all authors and all editors in the references section. Unpublished references should be limited.

 

References should be listed in alphabetical order. Each list reference should be cited in text, and each citation should be listed in the references section. The following are examples of basic references format:

Only papers appearing as part of an institutions working papers series should be classified as working process.

These should always include a specific working paper number as assigned by the institution.

Papers that have been accepted for publication but not yet published can be cited as 'in press' in the reference list, and they must be accompanied by the name of the journal.

Units of measurements of the SI System should be used throughout the manuscript.

 

Tables should be typed with double spacing, numbered consecutively, have brief titles, and be referred to in the text. Vertical rules are not accepted. Denote footnotes using superscript numbers.

 

Illustration: Line drawings should be made with black ink on strong white paper. All figures should be able to fit within journal size and proportion after reduction, without loss of details. Lettering should be kept to a minimum. Each figure should have a title, followed by a brief description of the way the particular experiment was carried out, if this is not explained in the text. Symbols of abbreviations used in the figure should also be explained. Each figure must be labeled with the name of the author, the title of the paper and the number of the figure. All figures must be referred to in the text. The Editorial Office will provide detailed assistance if necessary, and may redraw figures. Photographs should be submitted on glossy paper with good contrast. Color prints should not be sent as they are usually unsuitable for reproduction. Any color slides that are submitted must be perfectly exposed. Photographs must be marked on the back with the name of the author, the title of the paper, and the figure number. Spell out all abbreviations.

 

EDITOR’S AND REFEREE’S COMMENTS

All papers submitted to ISCJ are reviewed by the Editorial Board. If the topic of the paper is beyond the scope of the Editorial Board, it is sent to an expert in the field for detailed refereeing. The referee will consider whether the paper makes a significant contribution to soil and agroclimate science in Indonesia,  is original, and whether the results of the experiments are valid and significant. The report of the referee may recommend rejection, acceptance, or acceptance subject to further modification of the paper. Rejection of a paper by the Editorial Board of ISCJ is final.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
