Potensi Kandungan Antosianin pada Daun Muda Tanaman Mangga sebagai Kriteria Seleksi Dini Zuriat Mangga

Abstract


ABSTRAK. Antosianin pada buah, batang, dan daun tanaman mangga terekspresi sebagai karakter warna merah, ungu,
dan biru. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kandungan antosianin pada daun muda dengan
kandungan antosianin pada kulit buah mangga, serta potensi kandungan antosianin daun muda sebagai kriteria seleksi
dini terhadap warna merah kulit buah mangga. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Januari - Desember 2004 dan Januari
- Desember 2006 di Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pascapanen Pertanian. Penelitian menggunakan 11
varietas mangga berkulit buah merah (Delima, Irwin, Haden, Kartikia, Saigon, Gedong, Apel, Liar, Keitt, Beruk, Ayu)
dan 1 varietas mangga berkulit hijau yaitu Arumanis 143. Metode Horwitz digunakan untuk mengetahui kandungan
antosianin pada daun muda dan kulit buah mangga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan antosianin pada
daun muda berkorelasi positif secara linier dengan kandungan antosianin pada kulit buah mangga dengan persamaan
regresi Y=60,14+3,02X (r=0,83**). Kandungan antosianin pada daun muda mangga dapat digunakan untuk kriteria
seleksi dini terhadap karakter warna merah kulit buah zuriat-zuriat mangga.

Leaves for Early Selection Criteria of Mango Zuriat. Anthocyanin in fruits, stems, and leaves are expressed
as red, blue, and purple hues characteristic. The objective of the research was to find out the correlation between
anthocyanin compound on mango young leaves and anthocyanin compound on fruit peel. The research was done
during January- December 2004 and January-December 2006 in Indonesian Center for Agricultural Postharvest
Research and Development. Eleven red peel mango varieties (Delima, Irwin, Haden, Kartikia, Saigon, Gedong, Apel,
Liar, Keitt, Beruk, Ayu) and 1 green peel mango variety (Arumanis 143) were used in the research. Horwitz methods
was used to determined anthocyanin compound in the young leaves and in the peel of mango. The results showed
that anthocyanin compound in the young leaves have linear correlation with anthocyanin compound in the peel at
Y=60.14+3.02X (r=0.83**) regression formula. Young leaves anthocyanin compound of mango was potentially used
as early selection criteria for red peel of mango zuriat.
