Efisiensi penggunaan mulsa plasik dalam pengendalian uret (Lepidiota stigma Fabricius) pada tanaman tebu

Abstract


Uret Lepidiota stigma FABRICIUS merupakan hama penting pada tanaman tebu yang ditanam dilahan kering. Penggunaan mulsa plastik adalah teknologi pengendalian uret yang paling efektif untuk daerah endemik. Pengendalian menggunakan mulsa plastik termasuk teknologi yang cukup mahal, sehingga perlu dikaji tingkat efisiensinya dalam penerapannya.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efisiensi penerapan teknologi pengendalian hama uret tebu dengan teknologi mulsa plastikpada tanaman tebu.  Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan petani di Kecamatan Banyuputih, Kabupaten Situbondo pada bulan Nopember 2015 – Desember 2016.  Perlakuan disusun menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) tiga perlakuan dengan jumlah ulangan sebanyak delapan kali.  Perlakuan pengendalian uret menggunakan mulsa plastik yang dicoba adalah (1). Penutupan mulsa plastik 100%, (2). Penutupan mulsa plastik 50%, dan (3). Kontrol (tanpa penutupan mulsa plastik.  Pemasangan mulsa plastik dilakukan sehari setelah hujan sebesar > 4 mm.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa populasi kumbang tertinggi terjadi pada akhir bulan Nopember – awal Desember 2015, sedangkan populasi larva mencapai puncaknya pada bulan Maret dengan komposisi larva instar ke-3 sebesar 51%.  Penutupan mulsa plastik 100% paling efektif menekan populasi larva dibanding perlakuan penutupan mulsa plastik 50% dan kontrol. Teknologi pengendalian uret pada tanaman tebu dengan menggunakan mulsa plastik yang paling efisien adalah penutupan 100% pada permukaan lahan.  Batas ambang ekonomi sebagai dasar kelayakan penerapan penggunaan mulsa plastik untuk pengendalian uret pada tanaman tebu adalah 27% kerusakan tanaman.

Application of Plastic Mulch to Control White Grubs (Lepidiota stigma Fabricius) in Sugar Cane

White grubLepidiota stigma FABRICIUS is an important pest in sugar cane planted on dry land. The use of plastic mulch is the most effective white grub control technology for endemic areas. Control using plastic mulch is a fairly expensive technology, so the level of efficiency in its application needs to be assessed. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the application of sugar cane pest control technology with plastic mulch technology in sugarcane. The research was carried out on the farmer's land in BanyuputihSubdistrict, Situbondo Regency in November 2015 - December 2016. The treatments were arranged using a randomized block design (RBD) of three treatments with eight replications. The treatment of white grub control using plastic mulch were (1) 100% plastic mulch closure, (2) 50% plastic mulch closure, and (3) Control (without plastic mulch closure). Installation of plastic mulch was carried out one day after rainfall> 4 mm. The results showed that the highest beetle population occurred at the end of November - early December 2015, while the larval population reached its peak in March with the composition of 3 by 51%. Treatment100%plastic mulch closurewas themost effectivemethodein suppressing larval populations than 50% plastic mulch closure and control. The most efficient plastic mulch technology to controlwhite grub in sugarcane plants was 100% closure the land surface. The basis of the feasibility of applying the use of plastic mulch for white grub control in sugarcane was27% of crop damage.
